Problem running TVTime

Problem: I have a TVR card but, when I clik on tvtime, a windows is visible for a very short period of time and, almost at the same time the program just 'dies'

Useful Info(?): Before Sabayon I had installed Linux Mint and this problem never happened, making me conclude that it's not a problem of compatibility between the tv card and the aplication.

Is there a known reason for that ?
