Sauerbraten won't launch?

Hi,

Sauerbraten has run successfully from earlier versions of the live DVD. But since installing the new, final 3.4 version to my hard drive, it won't launch. I get a series of black screens, ahd then, I'm back to the desktop, as if it's trying to open a window but can't.

I have a new, HP laptop with Intel 945 GM graphics, 1280 x 800.

There's no error message. The window just never opens and I'm tossed back to the desktop.
