about:plugins?

Postby Zard » Wed Jun 27, 2007 4:31

Running the latest Live DVD a3 with all its Beauty. But just wondering about a little matter of
why can not get any Video and Media Clips to work with Konqueror Browser, for instance
Yahoo News immediately messages that Flash needs Installed and other plugins for media
specific playback? Typing "about:plugins" in Konqueror Address bar displays Dozens of plugins
for about just "Any Type of Use", so is there something else simply that I may be missing to
get Media to play. Firefox would be great to use for this, but has no Plugins installed! Too Bad
Opera is gone as that would be another good Option, but any help to get any Playback with any
Browser would be very appreciated, and again, Sabayon is a Magnificent Beautiful System!

no plugins?

I was able to view flash and mplayer videos right away in FF

I myself always do
Code: Select all
USE="gtk quicktime divx gmedia realmedia wmp win32codecs nsplugins firefox xvid" emerge mplayerplug-in

Than with Konq I believe you need to go into config - plugins - and rescan for plugins. I don't use konq, but that will be a start.

Thank you for prompt reply and Tip. Forget Konq and comment
on using other Browsers, as FF is now working fine and I enable
an installed FF Media Extension to play Media that launches a
default Player for the times whenever the built-in Plugins do not.
Again, How magnificent Sabayon is!
