Postby blazedforever » Thu Jun 21, 2007 3:18

Hey all I'm trying to get my favorite Web IDE Aptana runnig but i get this error after the splash "An error has occurred. See the log file /home/hans/workspace/.metadata/.log"

You can download Aptana free here http://207.97.207.77/downloads/current/ ... _Linux.zip

Some one wanna help a n00b out ?

You can browse to this log file and open as there might be the exact error and usually a fix for it.

This error can happen as it is a beta version or it is missing some code or has incorrect code in it.

Fix likely = use a older that your version or a newer one.

Also when "emerge -uD aptana" and the -u = update and -D = deep dependacy check , -uD

This will check and make sure it is upto-date as well as install any missing other programs that it needs to work propperly.

Another way is to run " revdep-rebuild -X" but this will check all software + dependancy on your computer and update or fix broken missing pieces. Very long process.

Hope this helps.
