Re: Akonadi Server: Problem after update to version 1.9.0

Thank you for additional informations.
But are you sure, your old database entries still exist and can be used when updating akonadi-server from 1.8.1 to 1.9 version?
Did you make an update with old calendar entries or did you begin with version 1.9 at all and start with new real calendar entries?
Me, to make it clear... I have existing calendar entries in akonadi (KOrganizer) which work fine with version 1.8.1,
but on update akonadi-server to 1.9, all entries are gone.
I would like to see my old entries, when updating to new akonadi-server 1.9.0, NOT enter them again, and I would appreciate, that I must not change any config file manually.

Thank you anyway....

Linuxfluesterer - I usually use the calendar with my google calendar - I don't know if these are stored in Akonadi or not. But I temporarily disabled Google Calendar and found some entries from Nov 2012 which I assume predate Aknonadi 1.9.0.

Sorry not to have been much help.

I think, it's fine with your help.
In *.db of akonadi (edited as text file), I found some entries a with google.com, so I assume, there is a direct connection (as 'added calendar') in KOrganizer - Akonadi - Google.
So, that's what I will do: When KDE 4.10 will appear in Sabayon-Weekly,
I will make a test install from Daily Build.
Then I will launch KOrganizer as empty and add Google Calendar.
If that option then works fine and I can get all my data (events) from Google then, I will be content.
But I will wait until complete KDE 4.10 is part of SL-Weekly.
And then, I will close this topic, if it really works...
Thank you, Tollgate....

premise: I do not use (nor like) akonadi but I know what sqlite and mysql are.

Here my theory:

To export things from akonadi 1.8 (i.e. sqlite) you should access the akonadi sqlite database (it is a simple file, stored somewhere in your $HOME, ... use akonadi to find where akonadi is... or plain old find) and dump it. Refer to sqlite documentation.

To import things in akonadi 1.9 (i.e. mysql) you should access the akonadi mysql database (not sure if it's a real database or an embedded one, probably the latter) and restore it from the old data. Make sure the format didn't change between versions. Refer to mysql documentation.

Today I've downloaded the latest KDE Daily Build. This includes the 4.10.1 version of KDE.
I started to test with USB-Live stick and probed serveral topics with it.
So, also launching KOrganizer, which uses Akonadi (Server).
To cut a longshort story: KOrganizer and Akonadi-Server work out of the box. No need to change standard settings.
I could launch KOrganizer, then add a calendar (here my Google) and after login in Google account, I could choose my favourite calendars to show in KOrganizer.
I think, there was a mismatch while migrate from KDE 4.9.5 to 4.10.0 and 4.10.1.
So, my conclusion is: If possible, do a clean new (re)install with at least that Daily Build from 10/03/2013,
then most problems and much upgrade work and time are not necessary do be done.
Tomorrow then, I will install that new Daily Build on my notebook. Scratch my KDE 4.9.5 system and after formatting, install SL again. In my last Backup I have all settings and files from my home directory. So I can recreate my home step by step ...
Thank you all for caring this akonadi topic here, guys. I will close this topic now.
