curl support in ncmpcpp?

So, today i tried to fetch song lyrics via ncmpcpp, and guess what?

Local lyrics not found. As ncmpcpp has been compiled without curl support, you can put appropriate lyrics into /home/wcm/.lyrics directory (file syntax is "$ARTIST - $TITLE.txt") or recompile ncmpcpp with curl support.

Just...why? Why is it compiled without curl support?
