Gimp saves only xcf [Solved]

hi. i installed gimp 2.7 from entropy and it cannot save on any format except xcf. the "save" dialog doesn't have other formats..what's wrong?

Nothing, GIMP is only saving in .xcf.
If you want another format, do export.

yes,
that's the default Gimp extension when saving.
to save in another file format, you have to export.
File --> export
File --> export to
and in the dialog box, select the extension you want, and hit export.

aa ok thanks, but why in other linux dists etc, the other formats appear in the save dialog?

maybe they're running 2.6 , instead of version 2.7 ?

Thats exactly right, we have newer GIMP - it also supports the new single window mode, try it by selecting "Window" > "Single Window mode". Marking this as solved.
