Keepassx has super micro small fonts under XFCE [Solved]

Hi all,

after setting up a fresh XFCE 6.0 Sabayon system I installed Keepassx (which is my mayor password administration tool on all Linux systems).
Strangely enough when launching Keepassx all fonts are super small (less than 4 pixel I guess). Some google-fu revealed that I have to launch qtconfig to adjust the font-size and this should fix the issue.
Unfortunately the qtconfig has the same super small font size which makes any configuration close to impossible.

Acknowledged, the fact that the system is connected to a 32 Inch flat TV doesn't enhance the legibility but I doubt that I would be able to read any part of qtconfig if I attach my 1080p capable monitor.

Does someone know I workaround ? I am close to install the Windows version of Keepassx under WINE to see if the problem is gone.
Using another password manager is not really an option because of the sheer amnount of passwords I keep inside Keepassx.

Any ideas ?

Hi, welcome to the Sabayon Linux Community

Check the file:
.config/Trolltech.conf

in your home directory, I think that editing the line:
font="some font entry"

should solve your issue.

for example, you could replace it with:

font="Verdana,16,-1,5,50,0,0,0,0,0"


the number after:
Verdana,
is the font size.

thanks for your help ! Changing the value helped and now the keepassx menu entries are readable

I am not shure what value this is. I had to crank it up to something like 42 and now the font size looks simiar to the system setting of 12 pixel (?).

That number should be the point size. However the "impact" of that parameter depends on which font you are using and on the desktop resolution, are you using Verdana or other fonts in that line?

I am using Verdana or I should rather say Verdana is pre-configured.
My desktop resolution is set to 1360x768.
