Thunderbird 5 enigmail and GPG broken

I wondered if anyone else has had this problem with the Thunderbird update today. On opening it complains that GnuPG is missing and also to uninstall emigmail. However, enigmail was removed during the update and any attempt to reinstall it would result in Thunderbird being removed. Messages kept popping up about sending unencrypted email when none of the accounts is set for encryption.

I'm not looking for a fix here as I think Thunderbird 5 is broken at the moment. I'm just very, very grateful for the sabayon-weekly repository which enabled me to reinstall Thunderbird 3.1.11. I have masked Thunderbird for the moment.

Thunderbird 5 blocks enigmail, thus it was removed from tree.

Did you try installing gnupg by the way?

Can you test this revision using Portage?

I have gnupg installed and sulfur doesn't give the option to reinstall. It takes too much stuff with it to try uninstalling and then reinstalling.

I compiled r3 on the server, please let me know if it works for you, then I can push it into main repository at once.

I don't have limbo enabled so will use portage and see if it works.

yes my thunderbird is also broken. Same kinda message as yours about enigmail. If I press on the help button, it does work normally though.

Very strange.... my system was working perfectly till this update...

Always one to follow suggestions I am now there as sabayonweb_63677 However I am not a fan of IRC and think I have the information I need from what you've posted here. Unless, that is, you are making a specific request for me to use limbo in which case I will. The emerge --sync is taking some time as I haven't done it for a couple of months.

Installed gnupg 2.0.17-r3 from portage (it also required mail-mta/ssmtp-2.64-r2). Then reinstalled Thunderbird 5 and the error is still there. The exact error message is "Could not start the gpg-agent which is needed for your GnPG version 2.0.17"
Gone back to Thunderbird 3.1.11.
