how to install firefox 3.6, and thunderbird email [Solved]

I have searched the forum and wiki and did not find instructions to install any programs.

Is it better to use portable or entropy? The wiki gives a lot of portage commands.
I am therefore loath to try various commands in case they are not the right ones.

I did try "# equo install firefox" but that did not work.

It would be appreciated if someone could post the proper commands.

Did you update first before trying to install

Have you tried using the GUI package sulfur, it is very easy to use

Have you tried using the GUI package sulfur, it is very easy to use

I have not tried it, and don't see it listed on LXDE.

The terminal usually works fine, as long as I know which commands to use.

I installed lxde from iso image, to dvd, to computer,
and have not removed anything. The last attempt was on fedora by mistake.

Now I'm installing firefox 3.6. Whew, firefox takes 1GB of space!
