Personally, I would always just use UUID based drive mounting. It makes your life so much easier....particularly when dealing with drives that can appear under differing spots in the dev tree. Here's a link describing this process.

Thanks for the link Brendan, gave that a go but still no luck.. I just can't see no valid reason why they won't automount...

Do you have localmount in your boot runlevel? (/etc/runlevels/boot) Depending on how you have things configured, you may also have to have your kernel modules loaded during the "boot" runlevel, as well.

Pay attention to your boot messages, after ensuring that "localmount" exists in your boot runlevel. If the "mount -at" command fails, for any reason, you'll get feedback here.
