Hey there, I've been using Sabayon for close to a year now, on and off (I switched back to Windows for a while for no reason) and I still consider myself a newbie at Linux. The reason being, I find it incredibly difficult to install software...
Recently, I came across an instant messaging client that caught my eye due to its beauty and style. And, naturally, I wanted to install this program. Following the instructions given in the website, I've managed to unpack the .tar.bz2 file (however, unpacking the .tar resulted in a "lone zero" or something to that effect... I don't remember exactly, and have no idea if this is the cause of the problem I'm having) and loaded the program (through the ./qnext command).
However, on loading the program, it comes across a connection error, and prompts me to configure my connection. The "Automatic" option results in no help, so I try the "Custom" option which takes me through step-by-step configuration of the program. Now, I know the way I have set this up is correct, but testing incoming connections says "the server is unable to connect to this computer". There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the router port mappings (namely, I cannot edit them when I go to my gateway) and there is no firewall installed that might prevent connection.
Any help?
