There is a folder that starts up applications upon login located at /home/<USER>/kde/Autostart . Just drag and drop links to applications you want to start up into that folder.

To disable autostart of unneeded items like ksynaptics and kbluetooth I shut down the unwanted apps (right click tray icon, select exit), created /usr/shared/autostart-disabled (I used File Manager - Super User Mode), and moved the .desktop files for the apps I don't want to autostart from /usr/shared/autostart to /usr/shared/autostart-disabled. Should I ever decide I need them I can move them back to their original location.
