Unable to start the mysql service in Sabayon PE 1.1

Hi,

When i try to start the mysql service (/etc/init.d/mysql start),i'm getting the error "Mysql Not Started". I checked the logs under the dir /var/logs/mysql, but the log file was empty.

Please help on this(I do not have an Internet connection at home).

it's a known bug with mysql, simply

chown -R mysql /var//lib/mysql

cd /usr

/usr/bin/mysqld_safe &

mysqladmin -u root -h 'localhost' password "password"

mysql -u root -p
