/etc/init.d/vboxdrv: No such file or directory [Solved]

Postby xyz » Tue Aug 14, 2012 6:07

Hi,
I am not able to run VirtualBox with Kernel 3.4:
Code: Select all
# /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
bash: /etc/init.d/vboxdrv: No such file or directory
# /etc/init.d/
Display all 161 possibilities? (y or n)
# /etc/init.d/v
vboxwebsrv                  virtualbox-guest-additions  vixie-cron                  vpnc
# modprobe -r vboxdrv
# modprobe vboxdrv
# /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
bash: /etc/init.d/vboxdrv: No such file or directory
# gpasswd -a xyz vboxusers
Adding user xyz to group vboxusers
# update-modules
# /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
bash: /etc/init.d/vboxdrv: No such file or directory
# vboxdrv setup
bash: vboxdrv: command not found

What else I could try out?

Thank you in advance.

I hate, how I sound now… but have you checked the wiki?
You can't get wrong, if you follow this: HOWTO: Using Virtualbox.

I never experienced any issues running VirtualBox independently of the kernel used.
