In english in windows create a software raid then place the virtualbox virtual hard drive on this new software raid and have fast win and virtualbox + guest SL hard drive performance.
This way you get fast raid virtualbox usage + 1 to 32 cores per virtualbox vm instead of limited 2 cores per vmware vm.
The future:
Ideal use for this is to run 1 cpu guest + 3 virtualbox guest's on ati stream / nvidia cuda and have this space used for the virtual hard drives all linked to distcc build for you.
You should be able to have between 4cores and 3x32 cores usable or more virtual cpu's from a quad core cpu and 640 stream ATI4770 / 800 stream ATI4850 processors depending on actual cpu and vcpu speeds.
Your cpu in the motherboard becomes a memory controller so can do this on single core to quad intel / amd depending on config.
In ubuntu Ati works well with 4 vm's on Ati stream last time I checked, nvidia is okay with 8 vm's. Windows might be different.
Nvidia 260gtx also has stream / cuda cpu's should be about 216 .
8+ cpu's use MPI and rebuild your kernel for cluster / multi cpu support or run a cluster distro on the 3 vcpu vm's and SL on main cpu based vm for distcc.
How-to vm's on ati stream = ask AMD.
This link below works with win xp software raid config.

Test the disk speed and adjust from 4096 to 64k as is best for your hardware use Roadkill's disk speed or any other disk speed testing software.

Dreams LOL. Seti@home / SL@home.
We should actually set a few of these vcpu vm's "no-user-access" up using hamachi vpn and distcc to build our own cloud to help the developers out. Grows and shrinks as is available.
