vmware server 2 and 2.6.29 kernel

I have being reading about a patch for the kernel 2.6.29 that fix the problem with vmware server. I am hesitant to use it
because my experience is that if is not through emerge/equo kernel patches may give me problems later on.

Have anyone tried the patch?

any advice will be welcome.

Please post links to the patch and or error and I will try to download and install vmware server + patch and see what happens.

Will it work for vmware server ?
No clue but looks related mostly to workstation and it's modules.
Might be good to give it a try, maybe it fixes bugs that has not been posted yet for vmware server.
