Not able to ping my IP printer from VM

Hi,
I am new to sabayon (as a matter of fact even new to linux). I got my Virtual Machine setup but somehow I am not able to configure my IP Printer. I am not able to ping it from my Virtual Machine (which is WinXP). Even though I can ping it from the host machine (sabayon) its not accessible from my virtual machine (XP), can anyone give me a step by step instruction on how to achieve this? Any help on this would be highly appreciated.
