C headers

Postby zuma » Tue Aug 05, 2008 3:45

I'm a newbie to Sabayon. I just recently installed it and it works like a charm. Except I like to use the vmware tools to make it smoother as I'm running it on my Mac. The installation for the vmware tools ran until it couldn't find a suitable vmmemctl module. I need the path to the C header files so I can have the installer build it. In an Ubuntu based distro I would do 'apt-get install build-essential linux-headers-$(uname -r)', but I'm at a loss on what to do in Sabayon and in what directory the headers would be located.

Thanks!

Have you learned the package manager yet? The wiki has information on using package managers.
