installing vmware workstation, asking for the init directori

Postby digitallysick » Sun Sep 23, 2007 18:05

What is the directory that contains the init directories (rc0.d/ to
rc6.d/)? /etc/init.d

The path "/etc/init.d" is a directory which does not contain a rc0.d directory.

What is the directory that contains the init directories (rc0.d/ to
rc6.d/)?

ive tried /etc and /etc/init.d it says the rc0.d to rc6.d are not there? so where are they?

Wondering about this myself.

Found this:
/etc/rc.d/init.d but nothing worth while or possibly of benefit to vmware in there.

/etc/init.d has usefull files in it.

Have you checked the guide someone recently did for vmware here or in the wiki on top of this page ? If anything like this needs to be for install it should be in that guide.
