I wonder if you guys can make maybe an advance mode to your installer that allows you just to do a base install? Pretty much like the Gentoos GUI installer but way more stable?
Example: Partitioning your harddrive, set up network, create user account and set root password, install and probe your hardware to configure the kernel just for your hardware and disable everything else, install grub, set USE-Flags/make.conf and set fstab? That way you can have just the base system installed and emerge/configure/set everything else later? This is what I do now with the Gentoo live cd and its GUI installer has gotten better (just tried an updated version of it that came out a couple of weeks ago) but like I said above, your guys installer is much, much more stable and doesn't crash at 80% lol.
Instead of doing it the old way and waste 3-4 hours you can do it the new way and waste 30 minutes lol.
