So thx guys,
Here is what I did,

Started with the Live-DVD

Made the connection via eth1, Because the system says eth0 (UNSPEC) as I described.

Now the connection was OK

I updated the installer - OK

I started GLI. Filled out the data.

Because the I-Connection ws OK I thought I would not have any probs

And then it stops at the Calling emerge thing.

So thats what I did.

It is really curious that the LIVE-DVD dont see my eth0.

I made my decision.
I will wait until the next Release. Hopefully in the next days.

I tried almost everything. But had no success with RR4.
I mean it makes no sense to try and try.
With all other CD?s I had no problem. So for me it seems that with the GLI is probably something wrong.
But who knows.

Anyway I will check the RR4 2.65 and we will see what happens.
Thx guys for your efforts

Wrong! Everything is done over again from scratch. All settings are lost, all ports are reloaded. The whole system is rebuilt from Square One. And the alpha GLI isn't up to the task. Yet.

I'm looking forward to 2.65 too, which Lxnay promises will be out in hours, not days. I'm watching the FTP site in anticipation!
