had normal Gentoo on a Hd but the drive crashed and LINUXLESS!!
any ideas? i just STOPS no warning nothing

The kernel parameter that is causing problem is probably the PREMP (which is mandatory right now) which we've changed to Voluntary in the new rc1 coming out. But first we need it to boot up successfully.
Try "legacy" in your boot parameters also and see if that doesn't work...you may only get a prompt screen, but that's okay, we need to start somewhere
