Puppet and Sabayon

Postby manifesto » Mon Mar 18, 2013 23:52

Hi,

I am pretty much interested by puppet and I tried it on sabayon.
I want mainly use it to maintain common packages between different distro without having to do it all time manually.
Of course puppet is linked to OS and maintener, so for sabayon if I try to make a rule, puppet will try to install it with portage which will fail has I havent portage on my machine (and I dont want to mix).
There are 2 questions here :
1 - Is there anybody interested and skilled enough to port the package management part to entropy in puppet/facter ??
2 - If there was so great people, then we should have either a package for sabayon/gentoo which is not likely to happened OR having a specific package for Sabayon as gentoo version is not covering some aspect of sabayon.
There would be some difficult decision to take here (to fork on not to fork this is the question ... )
