oxygen-gtk support [Solved]

Postby msdobrescu » Mon Sep 24, 2012 8:02

Hello,

Why oxygen-gtk is obsoleted? Is there a replacement or a recommendation what to use instead?

Thank you.

Rigo. After applying updates, in says some packages are unmaintained (p7z too).

Do you mean if I use another repo? Like sabayonlinux.org instead of the weekly?
If I've understood well, sabayonlinux.org should be the same as weekly, except the update come earlier...

No, joost is referring to Portage 'slots'. In Portage it is possible to have two different versions of the same package installed simultaneously. For example, I have both cnijfilter-3.20-r1 for my Canon MP560 printer and cnijfilter-3.70-r3 for my Canon MP510 printer. The message you are seeing originates from the Portage ebuild that was built by the Entropy repository maintainer and put in the Entropy repository. You don't need to worry about it, as slot changes (usually) are sorted out automatically for you in Entropy due to its 'rolling' upgrade nature.

So, I have removed and added back them. Only q7z was deleted and couldn't find it back.

There is no "q7z" package on Entropy (anymore) So most likely it has been dropped from Gentoo.

OK, but why didn't these packages updated automatically, as any other?
