Rolling release? I dont get it

I`ve just updated Sabayon via equo update; equo upgrade and the kernel is 3.2.0-sabayon while the latest Sabayon 9 is supposed to have 3.4. I expected all packages upgraded to Sabayon 9 as for a rolling release. Am I wrong?

sabayon updates all packages, but in more recent versions, not upgrade the kernel in auto manner, since the new kernel requires also a new video driver, new boot tec...

the easier manner is to use the "kernel-switcher" command,

by other process, is to install the new kernel, then the new video driver, then configure video acceleration 3D with the eselect command. See the links cited in this series of posts
