I checked the downloads, the only thing Sabayon is offering is x86 and AMD64

Intel 64 bit is either x86-64 or EM64T at Gentoo website.

AMD64 is also for Intel.

To quote from the article:
"Updating from Fedora 7 i386 to Fedora 8 x86_64 isn't supported, and many folks will tell you to just reinstall in order to move to a 64-bit Linux. However, I managed to resolve the main problems when doing a yum update in a single day."

Wow, only took a single day! I can install the OS and get it completely updated and configured in a couple of hours. But hey, why do that when you can muck around for a whole day!

This is on Fedora, but you''ll get an idea how much fun it is. Why someone would want to do this I cannot fathom, but if you try it do come back and tell us all about it... :|

Gentoo takes a whole day to install, but hey, why us Gentoo if you have Sabayon who does it in 30 min :?
Would not be left much of Gentoo I think.

I don't know, maybe the developers have a magic 1-click install button hidden in Sabayon which does it for me ...
I know, I know, It's wishful thinking but it could have been true.

I tried the re-install already with Sabayon AMD64 but the installer is crashing, I hate Anaconda for this.
I have tried and done so many distributions and if installer crashes 9 out of 10 it is the crappy Anaconda installer.
Who is using a installer with a wiki how to debug when having installation problems? Says enough about Anaconda already!

AMD Athlon 64 + Nvidia 8600 = Install Anaconda = Epic fail
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 + Nvidia GTX280 = Install Anaconda = Epic fail

Please drop Anaconda and use another decent installer! I just remembered that I dumped Sabayon 2 years ago !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just because of that crappy installer and I could not install the 64bit version! 2 YEARS and still same shit with Anaconda!!!
Sabayon deserves better than this.

Anyway, I learned about the PAE kernel to avoid the 3gb memory limit on 32 kernels but do not know if it's available for Sabayon but Gentoo seems to have it.

Will try again with 32 bit which seems ok when installing and try again AMD64 within next 2 years if problems are solved with Anaconda.
