raid and filesystem options

Postby tekwyzrd » Wed Feb 15, 2012 19:36

I'm currently waiting for another hard drive to arrive and still weighing my options as I assemble another computer. I am trying to decide whether I should use a so-so grade pcie x8 hardware raid controller or btrfs software raid. Hardware raid vs software... xfs vs btrfs... I'd be interested in experiences others have had and welcome suggestions.

Well, it's been two weeks. I will interpret the lack of responses to mean that sabayon is not suitable for a raid system. Time to search for another distribution that is.

Well... I am using SL IN A RAID0 config. That is: / is on a SSD and /home is on the RAID0 part.
Software RAID tough..

Don't know when exactly I installed it, but it has been running ever since.
