No Internet

Postby kprizzio81 » Wed Oct 11, 2006 14:16

I have been having internet problems with most Linux OS's so I decided to try Sabayon. I have a lap top is this will help any, and I also have a Broadband wifi card. I installed this OS last night. My boyfriend tried to set up the internet for me, however we thought it was set up, since it had the little blue light (which usually is the sign of internet). But this time the little blue light didn't mean anything. When you try and load google or yahoo it'll show the symbol as it is trying to load but errors out right away. The driver is Broadcom device BCM4306.
:? very confused

My boyfriend had followed that exactly. I should have stated that in the previous post. Sorry. When he had gone to that sight and followed all the directions that is when the blue light came on. However we don't know what else has to be done.

Well, welcome aboard and if you can just have some patience I am sure someone with experience in that area will be able to help you.

well the blue light really just means that the device is turned on, it doesnt necessarily mean it is connected to a network. that is the way it is with just about every card or device i have seen or heard of. mine will light up even if no os is loaded or installed at all...

when you are in sabayon is wlan0 listed at all when you do ifconfig?

The blue light is only on when I have internet. After installing the OS it won't automatically display. The internet is there it just is such a low signal (I think) that it only loads up the smallest amount. At least that is what my boyfriends tells me.

I also believe that it is the OS x86
