The Gentoo mailing list can be posted to via gmane, which is very handy, as can the fedora list. IMHO it's very handy to use gmane, or usenet. Perhaps this forum could be available as a mailing list at gmane? Surely, that'd increase the user base
Personally, I find web interfaces cumbersome as compared to e-mail.
