Postby Stewe1 » Mon Sep 11, 2006 14:41

Im very tired to be a windows user.. in fact, we all know that the windows is BIG shit.. Thats why I tried Linux... but COMON! is this realy OS for users or programers?? becouse, do such a trivial thing,.. like set up correct monitor resolution.. you must edit xorg.conf!!... manualy!!.... comon!!... not mentioning about other problems whith Tablet... Wifi ... and bluethooth... realy.. it is a disappointment... for me.. I dont care about, how to set up these things .. I just wanna to have, simply functional OS.. Funcionality... is the issue here.. in this OS.. I dont wanna work for OS .. it must working for me!!!!!!!! Otherwise its usles.. But I must admit.. You dont realy know, how fast your computer is, until you run Linux on it!!!

But wait ... there is an alternative.. MAC OSX! javascript:emoticon('')

if you don't want to learn, just keep your lovely OS.
btw, I think that you haven't understood anything about the Linux kernel and how it works. Because Linux is a kernel, and you are mostly talking about X.Org.

Then go buy a MAC or Windows PC.

Sorry Dude I have no sympathy for peeps who are too lazy to learn.

See Ya Watch the Door on the way out.

PS : If you a little time post what problems you seem to be experiencing and we might be able to have.

ADMIN : Sorry for my comments as it doesn't reflect, how I should respond to a post like this.

yes, please continue with windows - linux isn't about being lazy. You get back what you put into things. Nothing in = nothing back

every OS has a learning curve and every OS has certian "manual" aspects to them. there are many things in widows, like device drivers that one could say is more manual that sababyon since SL will more than likely auto-detect whatever you've got. But this isn't the point of what we're all trying to accomplish with Sabayon or Gentoo in general...With Sabayon you can make your OS exactly what you want it to be. you have 100% control, but there is a small price to pay for it since it takes time to configure it to be just how you want. Now, if you don't want total control over your own computer and want to be told by some large corporation how you can use your machine and what you can use it for, that's your choice...If you do decide that total freedom to use your machine how you want sounds like something you'd like to know more about, then install it and play around. you will need patiance at first, but the end result is well worth it in my opinion.

Well, editing a few files isn't anything hardcore, it is much the same as filling in forms, you still got to type stuff in to some boxes...

Let me put it this way, the Linux way of setting up things are generally by editing .conf files; you edit the file yourself instead of some crazy built-in software that has a millions pop ups asking questions then finally writes somewhere in the registry where you no ideas where about is it or how might it fuck up with other settings.

Otherwise, OSX is a good OS too, it is one of the "just works" thing - you buy the computer, plug it in, and it just works... OSX also has a Unix base and it in many ways similar to Linux, good for those who want to dig in a bit to how Unix works in genernal. The only thing is that you would have to buy a Mac for it.

After all: GNU/Linux > MacOSX > DOS > HP-UX > blah...............

> Windows
