Could someone explain to me the different kinds of Gentoo stage installs?

Hello UE,
Stage 1 and 2 are only for Developers, as described in the offial faq. For regular user a stage 3 with a (precompiled) genkernel is much easier and of course faster to install.
So the official manual supports stage 3 installation only.
