Can Not Format Floppy....

My Floppy Mounts "GREAT".
I can add files, delete files, edit files.

But when I go to Format my Floppy either from the Icon in the Tray.
Or KFloppy it gives me the following Error Message: Internal Error: Device not correctly defined.

Any Ideas?
Anyone Else having this Prob?

Eze it's alot easier to Save a 23kb file to a Floppy then to Waste time, Clearing off a CD and reburning it.
At least for these file Sizes.

Until you do another BU onto the CD/DVD Drive then you can add the files from the Floppy...

Makes sense, At least it does to me at least....

USB drives are pretty cheap, unless you are not in the US or EU.
Anyway, did you try gparted? not sure if it handles floppies, but not bad to give it a try.

Yes backing up SMALL Files Temp.
Until such time I'm ready to add them to my MAIN BU...

And yes Computers do come with Floppies.
As a Special Addon, Dell offers them on a Couple.
Microtel Offers them...
SystemMax has a few that come with them, although thier Lower Graded Linux PC's.
BUT THEY are out there.

And they make them for others who want to add them on, AS I HAVE...

If PC's don't come with Floppies or at least Offer the option.
Then why do 95% of all Mainboards have Support on board for them?

I've got (2)- 64bit Dual Core AMD Mainboards that support them, and their set up for AMD Socket AM2 CPU's.

If you don't like Floppies thats YOUR option not to have ONE....


And if Floppies aren't that needed then Why are all the "MAJOR" distro's "Sabayon" support therm in the Programing???

All I asked is how to get KFloppy to Format my Floppy Disc?
Or is there a program Avalble that will Allow me to do this?

I didn't expect to get Grilled as to WHY I'm Still using Floppies....

I also have on Board a Dual Layer DVD +- R/RW - CDR(RW) High Speed Lightscribe Drive.

I just don't Choose to Waste it burning a Lousy 23kb File, Until I'm ready to do a MAJOR BU thats all...

NO SOAP: gparted handles floppies BUT.

Came up unable to Open Device...

In any event I'm Grateful for your Help...

OK granted Floppies are a real PITA....

The only reason I really fool with them is because my wife Often uses them to send me files back to PRINT for her...
YES I know you can send'em as attachments, Use her own printer, etc, etc...
But she hates Change Period...

Anyhow about the Usb Jump Drives...
Can you let them hooked to your PC, as you would anyother drives?
Without causing any damage as to How long they will Last You?
If I had to Unplug them all the time that Could also be a PITA...

I had one once hooked to my PC, and it didn't last a Freakin Day...
Thats why the question....
And my PC doesn't run 24/7, I only have it on when I'm doing something or I'm dwnld...
