ok, I tried to follow the directions in that link, but I am still a newbie and was unable to follow. So far, I ran the "lsusb" command to determine the chipset of my webcam (not sure what that was supposed to do), then it says to check to see if I have support for "Video for Linux" enabled and says to run the command "modprobe videodev" and it doesn't appear to do anything so I'm guessing I don't have that file or something. So I moved on to the next step and this is what it looks like:
localhost daniel # # modprobe uhci-hcd
localhost daniel # # modprobe ohci-hcd
localhost daniel # modprobe videodev
localhost daniel #
apparently nothing is happening. I'm not understanding how this is supposed to be working. Can someone help me out with the step by steps for beginner understanding?
