Radeon X1300 Pro 256MB PCIe

Hey fellas,
Name is Jak for short or Phanto. I know theres old posts about GFX drivers and such, but is it possible to help me out purrrrrrdy plz?

I just installed a Radeon X1300 PCIe and I either get a CLI(Command Line Input? right verbage? assuming thats what it meant with all the searching for similar posts) or blank screen with a cursor to the top left. What happened? I don't know, I put in the video card and I got different boot up results.


Short ver. Summery
Sabayon was running fine using on-board video, today I got a new VCard. Couldn't wait to try it with Beryl. Aww s**t it's a no go. Now recently (the past 3 reboots trying to boot into Sabayon) I get a Command Line which I have no idea how to use... yet. Am I supposed to put something here because of the new hardware detection?



My Switching to Sabayon Story
One night Stumbling Videos, I come across a Linux video "Sabayon 3.3 w/Beryl". Holy s**t that was cool (compared to my first attempt to use Linux which was Mepis), start searching for Sabayon and start downloading. Got the image, messed up my USB PenDrive tryin to figure out how to do LiveUSB. Oh well, make it easier and just made a LiveCD (3.3 MiniEd because I have no DVD burner for LiveDVD)

Got Sabayon loaded, then awhile later figured out how to start Beryl. Stayed up all night with multiple windows across the cube etc. (you know how it is with new toys). Then a couple weeks later I get myself a "Radeon X1300 Pro 256MB" video card, install it and boot M$ to play some games to see whats up... moments later ("niiiiiiice") now I'm thinkin... lets see Beryl!!!

I reboot, select SL from the GRUB then hit [Alt+F1] to watch the loading. What's this? a command line? that never happen before, maybe I accidently hit something on the GRUB. I reboot again, same thing. Okay okay, whatever, I'll just reinstall and make this easier... reboot with LiveCD... I pick Graphical Install. I wait and wait, but I get a blank screen with a cursor at the top left, no response from keybord.

To shorten this post, I know this has to be because of the new VC. So I searched, googled, defined, and or yes no maybe so'd my way for help I am tired "/cry" I swear I found the topic!!! But it was in a different language f***!!!

I know I'm probably not looking hard enough I might have skipped a page or two about it.



But anyway, the login ask me for name and pass yea I can do that, but what do I do after?

Help is much appreciated, would love to hop back on Sabayon and Self-Gratify myself thru the wiki heehee

Did you just swap the card over?

try booting from the live CD and see if everything works OK.

If it does, repair yr installion, or back-up and do a re-install

(BTW for future reference CLI is command line interface)
