I have a brother HL-2270DW laser printer (can often find them on sale for good prices, replacement toner isn't inexpensive). Great printer, includes auto-duplex, works via usb/wireless/ethernet and zero issues with Sabayon. fast as many office printers too
A good friend who runs sabayon has a kodak esp7250 (no linux-kodak drivers, just a polite attempt at one in the c2esp package in portage; fails half the time if it works at all). But I'm tired enough of messing with that thing. He's given up and wants a supported printer. I think he likes to print color occasionally, thus inkjet is a good idea, but wow, the cost (particularly HP) of ink is pricier than liquid gold
Anyone got a favorite printer they'd recommend? Current his printer connected via ethernet. I've never seen him use the fax, but likes the scanner (to a USB stick) once in a while. His daughter, and a nearby windows machine uses printer once in a long while, so network connection is a very good idea.
Any suggestions most welcome!
thankyou!
andy
