Wifi Card not working

Postby chasha420 » Sat Oct 27, 2012 16:52

So...I've bought a new alfa card and it seems like after a few months of usage I suddenly realised that the other built-in wifi card that I have apparently isn't showing up in the interface (not working) may be due to a driver problem...but Alfa works flawlessly with Realtek drivers, etc.

But on other distros like Backtrack, etc. the built-in card seems to show up....so what's the catch? What do I have to do to fix it.

Here's the output of a few commands that I've tried:
Code: Select all
# lsusb | grep Wireless
Bus 002 Device 005: ID 0bda:8187 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8187 Wireless Adapter
Bus 007 Device 003: ID 413c:8126 Dell Computer Corp. Wireless 355 Bluetooth

Please help me out as always!
