Firewire not Working

Postby aitikin » Sat Aug 25, 2012 18:47

Subject pretty much says it all. I have a number of firewire drives that I'd like to be able to work with in Sabayon, but my FW isn't being recoginized. lspci output:

Code: Select all
sabayon dev # lspci
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 4 Series Chipset DRAM Controller (rev 03)
00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 4 Series Chipset PCI Express Root Port (rev 03)
(removed irrellevant data)
05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 02)
06:01.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Texas Instruments TSB82AA2 IEEE-1394b Link Layer Controller (rev 01)

dmesg output after uplugging and plugging FW Blu-Ray drive in:

Code: Select all
[ 1196.404624] firewire_core: skipped bus generations, destroying all nodes
[ 1196.905048] firewire_core: rediscovered device fw0

and last but not least:

Code: Select all
sabayon mnt # mount /dev/fw0 /mnt/test
mount: /dev/fw0 is not a block device

Any help would be appreciated?
