unable to use internal microphone in chat or browser[Solved]

ok i must admit as a long term windows user yes i have been using windows since the days of DOS lol I have tried mint,fedora,ubuntu,slack,all in gnome,mate,KDE,and lxde and what i find they all have in common is..NO microphone.When i am in a online chat room or skype etc my laptop has no microphone which is internal.i have tried all the tricks alsamixer,server,pavucontrol,pulse audio etc..I like sabayon9 the best of all the linux distros i have tried but i need to be able to use my mic and web cam...i have a new toshiba model c655-s5307 quad core i3 2330m processor 8GB DDR3 memory sandy bridge mobile yes this is a new laptop.please someone help me i have tried all the sabayon9 desktops and updated them all but still no microphone or web cam ability when in an online chat room or skype. Thank you in Advance.

ok after several days of surfing other linux forums on the net such as suse ,fedora,mint,debian etc i found a fix for the Microphone problem .I in have a toshiba laptop with a built in microphone that i was unable to use while in online chat rooms or in skype well here is what i did .Go to synatics package manager or in sabayons case go to RIGO in the search bar there enter GAMIX which is graphical sound mixer alsa dowr sound settings there you will see a way better graph system with many settings including the MICROPHONE Ssetting.I set my toshiba laptop rear mic to input source 1 and the front mic to line the mic works i have online chat abilities now and i can run skype to be honest i didnt see much help here on the sabayon forums nor did i ever get a single reply to this problem but it helps to search other linux distros forums as they are always helpful

Fixed the problem myself for all of you running xfce or gnome download GAMIX (graphical soundmixer ALSA set the rear mic to input source 1 and the front mic to line. good luck
