Adaptec driver broken

Postby ktindle » Fri Jun 29, 2012 0:00

I have a SCSI controller in a 32-bit PCI slot. Worked in SL 8, broken in SL 9 with the 3.4 kernel.
The aic7xxx driver is suddenly unhappy, to wit:

'lspci -k' output (extract):

01:07.0 SCSI storage controller: Adaptec AIC-7850 (rev 03)
Subsystem: Adaptec AHA-2904/Integrated AIC-7850
Kernel driver in use: aic7xxx

'dmesg | grep aic' output:

[ 16.125588] aic7850: Single Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 3/253 SCBs
[ 16.125993] aic7xxx 0000:01:07.0: BAR 1: can't reserve [mem 0xec000000-0xec000fff]
[ 16.125996] aic7xxx: <Adaptec AIC-7850 SCSI host adapter> at PCI 1/7/0
[ 16.125998] aic7xxx: I/O ports already in use, ignoring.
[ 16.126053] aic94xx: Adaptec aic94xx SAS/SATA driver version 1.0.3 loaded
