I am using a built in laptop display with my copy of an updated Gnome Sabayon. It is impossible for me to use my HDMI cord to connect my laptop to a TV, or even adjust my brightness and resolution because Sabayon does not recognize the monitors at all. I am using a nVidia GT 540M graphics card and my laptop display simply came with the laptop ("custom" Compal/Force PBL21), I'm guessing it would work with generic display drivers. Any help is welcome and please inform me of any other information I can give to aid in solving this. Thanks.

No idea, I'm afraid, as I don't have the same hardware as you and you need to provide more details about it. You could post your log files to see if they shed more light on the problem. See the post
