Windows 7 entry in Grub missing after Kernel update [Solved]

Postby dragon001 » Fri Feb 10, 2012 17:42

Hi,
I updated the Kernel today and now I'm missing the entry for Windows in the Grub OS List.
How can I restore it?
I installed Sabayone 8 (amd64).

I believe you need to run:
Code: Select all
update-grub

Cheers!

Thanks for your help.
But it didn't work.
I looked around in google and checked how to compile kernel in sabayone and found a trick at the manual compilation for the kernel

grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

You didn't compile kernel, you only updated grubs boot list, nothing less, nothing more... Compiling kernel requires a lot of knowledge and a lot of time, so I wouldn't advise you to do that... at least not yet!
I'm glad to hear you solved your problem with missing win installation from boot menu!
Cheers. ;)
