Problem, I can't print Epson Stylus SX105

Hi friends,

My Epson Stylus SX105 work fine in Windows and Crunchbang, but is not working in Sabayon.

The system recognize it, send the document but doesn't print.

Any idea?

Open a web browser and type

in the address window, that will bring up cups, check to see if your printer is listed, if not go to the administration tab and add it.

Additionally, make sure you have installed the following packages:

gutenprint
foomatic-db
foomatic-db-engine
foomatic-db-ppds
foomatic-filters
foomatic-filters-ppds
cups

and that the CUPS daemon is in the default runlevel:

# rc-update show -v | grep cups
# # If it is not in the default runlevel then add it:
# rc-update add cupsd default

everything seems ok, I have all the packages, cups is selected in the default runlevel, but I can't print...

There appears to be a problem with the printer driver. Guttenprint has a print driver for the Epson Stylus SX105 is is called escp2-sx105.

Go to the cups printer page and see what driver it is using. If it is the wrong driver, try modifying the printer and selecting the correct driver. If the driver is correct maybe it is corrupted, try reinstalling the guttenprint drivers.

As a last resort, delete the printer and try reinstalling it.
