First question is, did they ever work? why do you need to install them, did you get a kernel update and they no longer work?
Or is this after the first boot of a fresh install and do not work.
I really have no info on what the real issue is.
You can emerge them, but would include a few more steps.
equo install ati-drivers
will do the trick, but then again, you should already have them unless you changed kernels, or you have another issue.
Need more info, what card do you have, what makes you install the drivers.
Just pointing out to not use emerge unless you know the steps to safely mix portage and entropy.
Keeping a clean entropy install will go a long ways for stability, and will get the same drivers available in portage.
Alright. So I just did a fresh install and I like to play games so I want to get the official drivers so I can run my games faster than the open source drivers. It's a completely fresh install, no updates or anything.

I - hope - that's enough information. Sorry for not posting it upfront.
