upgraded vid cards now worse performance...

and updating nvidia drivers.

i just upgraded from a pair of 7600GS 256M video cards to a pair of beefy 8800GTX 768M video cards and my performance is WORSE then before.

i upgraded the nvidia drivers according to the wiki:

emerge nvidia-drivers
eselect opengl set nvidia
reboot computer

my desktop seems to be running a bit smoother and faster, but Cedega when playing WoW, my performance dropped by close to 40% what gives?

rebooted and the one and only game i play under linux (WoW via cedgea) went from 40s FPS to 20s FPS while having my xorg.conf include SLI info. I was informed that cedega does not access the SLI functionality of the nvidia cards, they blame nvidia, what ever... so i commented out the 2 lines and tried again. i dropped to teens and single digits.

so i am asking for what steps other then testing the cards one at a time, as i am doing that today, can i take to fix this issue.

also 1 8800GTX should be way more powerful then the 2x7600GS cards so what gives?

oh and how in sabayon do you restart X to get back to kde after doing a console login?

oh duh, was trying kdm as i run kde....

main topic is the video performance issues and getting SLI working properly. a part of that issue means editing xorg.conf thus kililng X and then either rebooting, waist of time and not needed, or restarting X. as i could not get X to restart with kdm or kde i was using init 7, but that for what ever reason can take up to 2 min before i am at the GUI login screen.
