First of all, since this is my first post, I'll do the usual. Great job everyone on Sabayon. I'm very impressed and despite a few problems I'm having, this is easily my favorite distro.
Now, as for the issue I just can't seem to resolve. During times of higher stress, I lose my mouse or keyboard. The system runs fine, and will keep doing whatever it was doing, but the mouse will lock up, or the keyboard will get stuck repeating a key. I notice that it always seems to happen just as my big fans are kicking on, but sometimes the fans come on without anything going wrong. acpi=off does not help. I've also read that it could be recent nvidia drivers, so I downgraded those, with no luck. Also, it only seems to happen if I'm using the mouse/keyboard at the time. If I get a bunch of compiles going at once and leave it alone, no problems. But if I'm moving the mouse or something then it locks up. Unplugging/replugging the item doesn't work, it just stays dead until reboot. I've also taken to leaving a second mouse plugged in because I can then use that one for a little while, though it will still go out eventually. Restarting X doesn't work either. If the mouse goes dead, ctrl+alt+backspace just gives me a blank screen that I can't get out of and have to manually shutdown from. Some places said to move to a PS/2 mouse to solve this kind of issue, and to me that's a cop out. I want to fix the problem, not run away from it. Plus I don't have any of those around any more.
I'm running 64bit on a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+, 2gb ram, nvidia 7900GT. I'm using a logitech g15 keyboard and razer copperhead mouse. The problem also happens with a generic USB optical mouse.
I've searched all over forums and google about this, and none of the solutions I've found has helped me. Other than this issue, everything works great out of the box and I'm very happy, so I'm willing to put in the time to solve this. Any help is much appreciated
