Nvidia 6800GT Wide screen 720p help [Solved]

Wonder if anyone can help? I'm new to linux and Sabayon. When ever i try the live cd on my Nvidia 6800Gt and Samsung LE32R L.C.D tv. I can only get a res of 800*600. But need 720p(1280*720) Im coming out of the DVI socket on my graphic's card and using a HDMI adapter into my L.C.D tv. Works fine in Windows X.P. But would really like to get rid of Mr Gates altogether if possible....
