IBM thinkpad issue

Postby dekeijzer » Mon Sep 10, 2007 18:56

Hello,

I installed sabayon on my brand new thinkpad t60p and was happy to see everything was working right out of the box.
Now I`m discovering some things don`t work though. It`s not that big of a deal but it would be great to have all buttons on my keyboard working.
Then I saw a special ibm thinkpad laptop option, however the page is greyed out. I does have 2 lines on the top telling me what to do.. But I really have no idea what it means..

And there is another thing, it has a dual core processor. Does sabayon automatically detect this and configure it for optimal use or do I have to enable anything?

Thanks :)

Hi
I've installed Sabayon on several Thinkpads now, Z60m, Z61p, R40 R52.

Most stuff works out of the box, but some stuff you need to configure a few things.

Like the Ultrabay, which I have working.

There is a fab website dedicated to Thinkpads with Linux http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/ThinkWiki

That option is in the KDE control centre is no good, unfortunatly.

As for the dual core issue - did you install the 64 bit version of sabayon? You need this to enable the dual-cores.

If you could be more specific whats not working I might be able to help you out

Well my biggest problem is the audio control keys not working with amarok.
The keys I would like to use are fn+ arrow key. Amarok does not recognize any of these keys. And when trying to configure at the global shortcuts section of amarok when I press them no action is detected.
