Hi there and welcome here.
Yes it has EFI in the kernel and you might want to check the forums / wiki top right side of page is wiki / search rEFIt I think is the thing to install so that it can boot afterwards with osx as well on same Apple. Clean only SabayonLinux also works if you need too or windows + SL any mix you could like.

You can boot using the up/down arrows to select music or safe or ??? on the boot menu and then press F5 and text apears at the bottom then add " xdriver=ati res=1440x900 " replacing the res= with correct resolution numbers for your screen.
