Mute light + volume, read guide but no luck

in hopes of getting my quickplay, mute button, and volume keys to work. but i have no idea what to look for.

In ubuntu it worked automatically.

I have a Compaq V3000 and use this driver for windows: HP Quick Launch Buttons

the mute button also turns red when the volume is muted, and will be blue when the sound is on.


any help is appreciated, basically this is the last thing to getting a fully operational system (first linux where it was on par with windows).

Not sure if anyone here has the same hardware / parts , gentoo.org forums / wiki should at least have a few persons that has the same laptop and or know precisely how to do it.
Several persons that could have helped is now testing beta / updated software and might not be able to help , maybe in a few days they will have more time.

Just hang in there for a few days.
